Description

Now being offered in a pressure treated finish our very popular Shire Guernsey shed.  Its retained all its high specification features such as large opening double doors, tongue and groove roof & floor and two smart criss cross proper joinery windows where you have the choice of how you wish to locate these.  Its proud price point beats any overlap shed when looking for value for money.

The feedback we get from customer visiting our Show Site in Nottingham is that tongue and groove garden building looks much tidier and more natural in a garden setting.  This wall strucure locks together the panel

There is a reason why shiplap has a profiled finish it is to allow better run off of water therefore ensuring the timber dries more quickly and ensuring your wooden shed will last much longer than the equivalent tongue and groove or overlap shed. The double doors provide for easy entry and are secured with a padbolt (padlock not supplied). The timber used is a continental slow grown timber. Slower grown timber means tighter grain, extra strength and longer life.

Manufactured in the UK, Shire's garden sheds are renowned for their quality and probably make the best quality wooden sheds at this price in the UK.

Timber: You will be impressed by Shire's use of natural products and their environmental credentials. A high quality timber garden building starts with high quality timber, so it is important to know exactly what timber is being used for your garden shed. The most commonly used timber for garden buildings is pine as this is widely available for a very cheap price, however all of Shire's garden buildings are constructed using high quality spruce and is sourced from Siberia and Scandinavia under strict FSC guidance. Spruce is more durable than pine and provides a higher quality finish. This timber is slow grown unlike fast grown British timber, being slown grown timber means a tighter grain, less sap and with far less knots and warping occurring. The timber used on Shire's garden buildings is therefore a more durable timber that will last much longer than other timbers used on garden sheds. Spruce is therefore the timber of choice for companies such as Shire who always look to produce the best garden sheds.

Walls: Constructed using high quality 12mm thick softwood planed tongue and groove shiplap pattern boarding. All timber is from sustainable sources, so that you can feel good about buying a Shire shed.

Frame: A robust planed 34 x 34mm (1 1/3' x 1 1/3') framework (walls and floor) that gives the building strength.

Floor: Manufactured from high quality 12mm planed tongue and groove matching pattern boarding.

Roof: Is constructed from 8mm Oriented Strand Board (OSB) with included roofing felt.

Windows: Two opening criss cross windows are included as standard and are properly morticed and tenoned which is one of the strongest joints in woodwork. They are opening, profiled, and weather resistant. The windows have a unique profiled 'lip' that covers the aperture of the opening in the panel making it weather resistant. Casement stays have 2 levels of opening. The glazing is 3mm horticultural glass. All glazing is retained by profiled beading which is pre-mitred (no awkward cutting required). Being a modular building the window panels are interchangeable and can be fitted on either 10' side or one each on either 10' side. These large windows allow plenty of light to flood into the shed.

Doors: Supplied with reinforced ledged doors and with padbolt.

Pressure Treatment: - With this treatment a preservative is forced into the timber under high pressure, providing effective long term protection against rot and fungus. Pressure treatment is almost colourless except for a light green tint caused by the copper content in the preservative. In the course of time, the treatment greys, but this does not affect the quality.

Supplied flat packed for ease of handling and assembly. All fittings and felt are included in the price with clear easy to follow instructions.
