Description

Manufactured in the UK, Shire's garden sheds are renowned for their quality. This 7' x 7' Shire Corner Shed fits nicely into the corner of your garden without wasting space. It has two criss-cross opening windows to allow maximum light to be let in and double doors for really easy access. All timber is from sustainable sources, so that you can feel good about buying a wooden Shire shed. Shire garden buildings are made from a high grade ship-lap tongue and groove construction. This is distinguished from fast grown type timber used on cheaper sheds from other manufactures. Tongue and groove construction means the building is better sealed from the outdoor elements. The timber used is a continental slow grown timber. Slower grown timber means tighter grain, extra strength and longer life.

Framework: The Corner Shed has a robust planed 35x35mm (1 1/2' x 1 1/2') framework (walls and floor) that gives the building strength.

Floor: The shed's floor is manufactured from high quality 12mm planed tongue and groove matching pattern boarding.

Roof: The shed's roof is constructed from 8mm Oriented Strand Board (OSB) with included roofing felt.

Walls: The shed's walls are constructed using high quality 12mm thick softwood planed tongue and groove shiplap pattern boarding.

Windows: These are properly morticed and tenoned. They are opening, profiled, and weather resistant. The window has a unique profiled 'lip' that covers the aperture of the opening in the panel making it weather resistant. Casement stays have 2 levels of opening. The glazing is 3mm horticultural glass which many other manufacturers do not use as standard. All glazing is retained by profiled beading which is pre-mitred (no awkward corners to be cut).

Doors: are ledged and supplied with a padbolt (padlock not supplied).

Treatment: All Shire garden buildings are supplied pre-treated with a base coat to both sides in a golden brown water based industrial product (colour can vary from the picture shown). Shire the manufacturer recommends that you apply a water based top coat of your choice. This will protect the timber from weathering on your shed making it last longer and will need to be repeated accordingly in relation to the manufacturer's instructions.

Timber: A high quality timber garden building starts with high quality timber, so it is important to know exactly what timber is being used for your garden shed. The most commonly used timber for garden buildings is pine as this is widely available for a very cheap price, however this garden building is constructed using high quality spruce and is sourced from Siberia and Scandinavia under strict FSC guidance. Spruce is more durable than pine and provides a higher quality finish. This timber is slow grown unlike fast grown British timber, being slow grown timber means a tighter grain, less sap and with far less knots and warping occurring. This timber is therefore a more durable timber that will last much longer than other timbers used on garden sheds.

Supplied flat packed for ease of handling and assembly. All fittings and felt are included in the price with clear easy to follow instructions.
