High Grade Slow grown timber means a tight grain giving extra strength, a much longer life and superior build quality that looks great in the Garden

The 8 x 6 shed is one of the most popular sizes in the UK. Its size means it is ideal for a compact garden or allotment and won't take up much space in a larger garden. The Durham 8 x 6 is a shed ideal for storage. It has quality 12mm planed shiplap tongue and groove walls.

Manufactured in the UK, Shire's garden sheds are renowned for their quality and probably manufacture the best value for money wooden shed in the UK today. This 6ft wide (door side) and 8ft deep this Apex Garden Shed is great for those that want loads of storage space but without taking up too much garden space. It has one opening window and and all timber is from sustainable sources, so that you can feel good about buying this shed.

Shire garden buildings are made from a high grade shiplap tongue and groove construction. This is distinguished from fast grown type timber used on cheaper sheds from other manufactures. Tongue and groove construction means the building is better sealed from the elements. The timber used is a continental slow grown timber. Slower grown timber means tighter grain, extra strength and longer life.

Framework: A robust planed 34x34mm (1 1/2' x 1 1/2') framework (walls and floor) that gives the building strength.

Floor: The floor is constructed from 11mm Oriented Strand Board (OSB).

Roof: The roof is constructed from 9mm Oriented Strand Board (OSB) with included roofing felt.

Walls: The walls are constructed using high quality 12mm thick softwood planed tongue and groove shiplap pattern boarding.

Doors: Ledged for extra strength.

Windows: Properly morticed and tenoned. They are opening, profiled, and weather resistant. The window has a unique profiled 'lip' that covers the aperture of the opening in the panel making it weather resistant. Casement stays have 2 levels of opening. The glazing is 3mm horticultural glass which many other manufacturers do not use as standard. All glazing is retained by profiled beading which is pre-mitred (no awkward corners to be cut).

Treatment: All Shire garden buildings are supplied pre-treated with a base coat to both sides in a golden brown water based industrial product (colour can vary from the picture shown). Shire the manufacturer recommends that you apply a water based top coat of your choice. This will protect the timber from weathering on your shed making it last longer and will need to be repeated accordingly in relation to the manufacturer's instructions.

Supplied flat packed for ease of handling and assembly. All fittings and felt are included in the price with clear easy to follow instructions.

Customer Reviews

"Great value: received my shed on 18th June 2012 as promised great value for the money easy to build me and my Dad threw it up in no time would recommend to any future buyers"

Just a brief note to say that I received delivery of my shed on Monday 17 January and the very next day it was assembled, as promised by Damian. When I returned from work the shed assembly had finished and I have to say that it looked and still looks fantastic positioned on the brick base that I had previously built and everyone who has seen the shed has commented how nice it looks. All that remains is for me to figure out what else to store in the shed apart from the proverbial lawn mower, as it is surprisingly spacious inside. Therefore I would like to take this opportunity to thank you, your team and in particular Jasmine for all that was done in order for me to get my shed delivered / assembled.I will definitely recommend Elbec to family and friends from now on.Thanks once again and best wishes,Jon"
