Features
Our Aviary consists of a 6' x 3' flight area connected to a back box area (3' x 3') for breeding. The wood we use is 1.5" square pine, opposed to the 1" square timber that many other aviaries are built with. This increases its strength and robustness and hopefully prolongs the life of the aviary.

The Aviaries come in 6' x 3' panels complete with screws and complete construction guidelines. Dimensions

Timber
Good quality materials are used on this product.

The majority of the framework uses a selected 1¼ inch planed Scandinavian red pine timber, which is ideal for these types of animal homes.

For the exterior and panelling of the back box area, a Scandinavian white pine in a log lap cladding effect is used. This sturdy log cabin style look gives you that familiar Pethouse trademark.

The back box floor is made from a very strong and durable Latvian external birch ply, which adds life as well as strength to the product.

The roof panels are primarily MDF. A strong covering of green mineral felt securely battened all round ensures waterproofing.

Ironmongery
Where possible, the fixings are kept attractive to the eye therefore providing a good looking product! For the back box doors we use strong 2" flush hinges and when panels are made we use a strong 16 gauge galvanized brad nail.

Wire
The wire we use is galvanized ½"x½" 19 gauge, most of which is of Italian origin.

Colour
The wooden parts have been dipped into a mixture of water based preservatives and silk additive to help hold its colour. Because of the nature of our products, we need to ensure no harm can come to the animals through the preservative we use. Although we feel the rabbit hutches hold their colour well, withstanding all weathers, we strongly recommend that you re-treat your product at least twice yearly especially before wet and winter months to help prolong its life.

Treating the inside of the back box area and regular cleaning is equally important to prevent bugs and such like.
