Manufactured in the UK, Shire's garden sheds are renowned for their quality and probably manufacture the best value for money wooden shed in the UK today. This 7ft by 7ft Barn Garden Shed is great for those that want loads of storage space but without taking up too much garden space. You can also purchase as an optional extra a shelf for extra storage.
It has one opening window and double doors for really easy access in to this shed. All timber is from sustainable sources, so that you can feel good about buying this shed.
Made from a high grade ship-lap tongue and groove construction. It is distinguished from fast grown type timber used on cheaper sheds from other manufacturers. The tongue and groove construction means this shed is better sealed from the elements. The timber used is a continental slow grown timber. Slower grown timber means tighter grain, extra strength and longer life. Supplied flat packed for self assembly.
Framework: A robust planed 34x34mm (1 1/2" x 1 1/2") framework (walls and floor) that gives the building strength.
Floor: The floor is manufactured from high quality 12mm planed tongue and groove matching pattern boarding.
Roof: The roof is constructed from 11mm Oriented Strand Board (OSB) with included roofing felt.
Walls: The walls are constructed using high quality 12mm thick softwood planed tongue and groove shiplap pattern boarding.
Doors: are ledged for extra strength.
Treatment: Supplied pre-treated on both sides in a honey brown water based industrial product.
Windows: These are properly morticed and tenoned. They are opening, profiled, and weather resistant. The window has a unique profiled 'lip' that covers the aperture of the opening in the panel making it weather resistant. Casement stays have 2 levels of opening. The glazing is 3mm horticultural glass which many other manufacturers do not use as standard. All glazing is retained by profiled beading which is pre-mitred (no awkward corners to be cut).

Portabase: The Portabase is the green alternative to concrete it comes pressure treated to increase its lifespan. The advantage of the portabase is that it easier to install and support your garden building. The portabase can be laid onto lawns or firm soil. The Shire portabase is made from 44mm x 70mm pressure treated bearers and is supplied with adjustable base spikes. The base spikes can be driven into soft ground not concrete and have around 200mm of adjustment to them so that they can cope with a fair slope.
Note: The image shows the portabase in its assembled raised position prior to driving in the spike and leveling. Comes flat packed and is easy to assemble.
