All the timber used to manufacture the Lumley Summerhouse is from sustainable sources, so that you can feel good about buying this summerhouse. Shire garden buildings are made from a high grade ship-lap tongue and groove construction. Tongue and groove construction means the building is better sealed from the elements. The timber used is a continental slow grown timber. Slower grown timber means tighter grain, extra strength and longer life. The Lumley Summerhouse comes factory treated in a golden brown and we recommend this is treated again upon arrival.

Framework: A robust planed 34x34mm (1 1/2" x 1 1/2") framework (walls and floor) that gives the building strength.
Floor: The floor is manufactured from high quality 12mm planed tongue and groove matching pattern boarding.
Roof: The roof is constructed from 11mm Oriented Strand Board (OSB) with included roofing felt.
Walls: The walls are constructed using high quality 12mm thick softwood planed tongue and groove shiplap pattern boarding.
Doors: Proper Joinery ¾ Glazed in 3mm horticultural double doors.

Optional Accessories:
The Top Coat Treatment: This features a combination of spray and hand application applied over the existing dip treatment. The treatment is 'Honey Gold' in colour and we estimate the building will not need further treatment for another 2 to 3 years. The Treatment is water based therfeore more environmentally friendly than spirit treatments.
Additional Bearers: This optional accessory enables the floor to be raised off the ground thus ensuring longevity of the actual floor joists. The Bearers are pressure impregnated 45x70mm and are used under the existing integral floor bearers.
