Manufactured in the UK, Shire's summerhouses are renowned for their quality and probably make the best value for money summerhouses in the UK today. The Westminster Summerhouse is an attractive building it is a purposeful garden room, study, music room the choices are endless. Two large opening criss-crossed windows, matching double doors and wing-lights provide a bright atmosphere inside the building. An optional verandah (pictured) is available and adds 650mm to the length. All timber is from sustainable sources, so that you can feel good about buying a Shire shed.

Shire buildings are made from a high grade ship-lap tongue and groove construction. This is distinguished from fast grown type timber used on cheaper sheds from other manufactures. Tongue and groove construction means the building is better sealed from the elements. The timber used is a continental slow grown timber. Slower grown timber means tighter grain, extra strength and longer life.

Frame: A robust Planed 35x35mm (1 1/2" x 1 1/2") framework (walls and floor) that gives the building strength.

Floor:Manufactured from high quality 12mm planed tongue and groove matching pattern boarding.

Roof: manufactured from high quality 12mm planed tongue and groove matching pattern boarding.

 Walls: are constructed using high quality 12mm thick softwood planed tongue and groove shiplap pattern boarding. All timber is from sustainable sources, so that you can feel good about buying a Shire summerhouse.

Treatment: all Shire buildings are supplied pre-treated on both sides in a honey brown water based industrial product.

Windows: are properly morticed and tenoned. They are opening, profiled, and weather resistant. The window has a unique profiled 'lip' that covers the aperture of the opening in the panel making it weather resistant. Casement stays have 2 levels of opening. The glazing is 3mm horicultural glass. All glazing is retained by profiled beading which is pre-mitred (no awkward corners to be cut)

Doors: are ledged and braced and supplied with a padbolt.
