Manufactured in the UK from raw timber all the way to a finished building by one company - Shire. Shire have an unrivalled reputation for superb workmanship and imaginative design. The Keilder has two rooms which each have their own door. One room has a fully glazed double door and the other a partially glazed single door. The larger room is perfect for dining, entertaining and many other purposes. The smaller room is ideal as an office, a bedroom or simply for storage. A large dide window and dual glazed panels fill the large room with light.
Roof: an apex roof that uses thick 15mm tongue and groove pine with heavy duty felt tiles for waterproofing.
Treatment: the timber floor joists are pressure treated for long term protection against rot and fungus.
Windows: are properly morticed and tenoned. They are opening, profiled, and weather resistant. The windows have a unique profiled 'lip' that covers the aperture of the opening in the panel making it weather resistant. Casement stays have 2 levels of opening. The glazing is retained by profiled beading which is pre-mitred meaning there are no awkward corners to be cut.
Doors: complete wooden door with lockable handle.
Timber: all Shire's timber is from renewable sources as approved by the Forestry Stewardship Council. The timber is thicker than that of most summerhouses which demonstrates how much more of a robust structure a Shire Pine Lodge is.
