The 6' x 6' Arran Apex Garden Shed is great for those that want a lot of garden storage space but without taking up too much garden space. Big enough for even a ride on mower. It has one opening window, providing ventilation and double doors for really easy access that is properly ledged and braced.
All timber is from sustainable sources, so that you can feel good about buying a wooden Shire shed. Shire buildings are made from a high grade ship-lap tongue and groove construction. This is distinguished from fast grown type timber used on cheaper sheds from other manufactures.
Tongue and groove construction means the building is better sealed from the outdoor elements. The timber used is a continental slow grown timber. Slower grown timber means tighter grain, extra strength and longer life.
Framework: The Arran has a robust planed 35x35mm (1 1/2" x 1 1/2") framework (walls and floor) that gives the building strength.
Floor: The floor is manufactured from high quality 12mm planed tongue and groove matching pattern boarding.
Roof: The roof is constructed from 11mm Oriented Strand Board (OSB) with included roofing felt.
Walls: The walls are constructed using high quality 12mm thick softwood planed tongue and groove shiplap pattern boarding.
Treatment: All Shire buildings are supplied pre-treated with a base coat to both sides in a honey brown water based industrial product.
Windows: These are properly morticed and tenoned. They are opening, profiled, and weather resistant. The window has a unique profiled 'lip' that covers the aperture of the opening in the panel making it weather resistant. Casement stays have 2 levels of opening. The glazing is 3mm horticultural glass which many other manufacturers do not use as standard. All glazing is retained by profiled beading which is pre-mitred (no awkward corners to be cut).
Doors: ledged and supplied with a padbolt. Please note: all measurements are approximate and Shire's garden buildings are made from metric measurements.
