This 8' x 6' Shire Warwick Apex Shed (Double Door) represents amazing value and is great for bikes, lawnmowers or whatever else you need to store. It has one opening window for maximum brightness inside and double doors for easy entry that are ledged for extra strength.
All the timber from Shire sheds is from sustainable sources, so that you can feel good about buying this shed. Shire garden buildings are made from a high grade ship-lap tongue and groove construction. This is distinguished from fast grown type timber used on cheaper sheds from other manufactures.
Tongue and groove construction means the building is better sealed from the elements. The timber used is a continental slow grown timber. Slower grown timber means tighter grain, extra strength and longer life.
Framework: A robust planed 34x34mm (1 1/2" x 1 1/2") framework (walls and floor) that gives the building strength.
Floor: The roof is constructed from 11mm Oriented Strand Board (OSB).
Roof: The roof is constructed from 11mm Oriented Strand Board (OSB) with included roofing felt.
Walls: The walls are constructed using high quality 12mm thick softwood planed tongue and groove shiplap pattern boarding.
Doors: Double doors which are ledged for extra strength.
Windows: These are properly morticed and tenoned. They are opening, profiled, and weather resistant. The window has a unique profiled 'lip' that covers the aperture of the opening in the panel making it weather resistant. Casement stays have 2 levels of opening. The glazing is 3mm horticultural glass which many other manufacturers do not use as standard. All glazing is retained by profiled beading which is pre-mitred (no awkward corners to be cut).

The advantage of the portabase is that it easier to install and support your garden building. The portabase can be laid onto lawns or firm soil. The Shire portabase is made from 44mm x 70mm pressure treated bearers and is supplied with adjustable base spikes. The base spikes can be driven into soft ground not concrete and have around 200mm of adjustment to them so that they can cope with a fair slope.
Note: The image shows the portabase in its assembled raised position prior to driving in the spike and leveling. Comes flat packed and is easy to assemble.
