Manufactured in the UK, Shire's garden sheds are renowned for their quality and probably make the best quality wooden sheds at this price in the UK.
The 10' x 7' (approx) Guernsey Apex Garden Shed is a tough and strong garden shed with a tongue and groove floor as standard.
It comes with two joinery criss-cross opening windows that are stylishly finished and included in a fantastically low price. The extra brightness of the two windows allows you to utilise this as a workshop. It is plenty big enough for a ride-on mower and other essential garden tools.
The double doors provide for easy entry and are properly ledged.
Shire buildings are made from a high grade ship-lap tongue and groove construction. This is distinguished from fast grown type timber used on cheaper sheds from other manufactures. Tongue and groove construction means the building is better sealed from the elements. The timber used is a continental slow grown timber. Slower grown timber means tighter grain, extra strength and longer life.
Supplied flat packed for ease of handling and assembly. All fittings and felt are included in the price with clear easy to follow instructions.
Frame: A robust Planed 35x35mm (1 1/2" x 1 1/2") framework (walls and floor) that gives the building strength.
Floor: manufactured from high quality 12mm planed tongue and groove matching pattern boarding.
Roof: is constructed from 11mm Oriented Strand Board (OSB) with included roofing felt.
Walls: constructed using high quality 12mm thick softwood planed tongue and groove shiplap pattern boarding. All timber is from sustainable sources, so that you can feel good about buying a Shire shed.
Treatment: all Shire garden buildings are supplied pre-treated with a base coat to both sides in a honey brown water based industrial product. Alternatively, you can pay a little extra to have your building pressure treated (see picture below). In this treatment a preservative is forced into the timber under high pressure, providing effective long term (no future treatment will ever be needed) protection against rot and fungus. Pressure treatment is almost colourless except for a light green tint caused by the copper content in the preservative.

In the course of time, the treatment greys, but this does not affect the quality.
Windows: Two opening criss cross windows are included and are properly morticed and tenoned. They are opening, profiled, and weather resistant. The window has a unique profiled 'lip' that covers the aperture of the opening in the panel making it weather resistant. Casement stays have 2 levels of opening. The glazing is 3mm horicultural glass. All glazing is retained by profiled beading which is pre-mitred (no awkward corners to be cut)

Optional Accessories
Building Base: Build your shed on the green alternative to concrete. It comes pressure treated to increase its lifespan. The advantage of the building base is that it easier to install and support your garden building. The building base can be laid onto lawns or firm soil and is made from 44mm x 70mm pressure treated bearers and supplied with adjustable base spikes.
The base spikes can be driven into soft ground not concrete and have around 200mm of adjustment to them so that they can cope with a fair slope.
Once level you simply build your shed on top of the building base.
Note: The image shows the building base in its assembled raised position prior to driving in the spike and leveling. Comes flat packed and is easy to assemble.
