Things You Could Store in a Shed

Things You Could Store in a Shed.

Ok, so you’ve gone onto the internet to do a bit of browsing and you suddenly stumble across www.elbecgardenbuildings.co.uk . You happen to be looking to replace that worn down old shed you have in your back garden and notice Elbec’s September Offers!

The Shire Jersey  13 x 6' 6"  Double Door Apex Shed catches your eye at an absolute steal at £599.00 with pressure treatment included. Not being one to miss out on a bargain, you run downstairs to grab your card and order it online. Easy.

Fast forward 3 weeks and the old shed has gone and the Shire Jersey Shed is safely in your back garden, however it’s looking very empty. So just what could you fill it with?
You go into the packed garage and collect the tool kit off wall, take it round the back and hang it on the wall.

Going back into the garage you find your wheelbarrow and fill it with spades, rakes, hedge cutters and numerous other garden tools. Wheeling it round to the shed, you hang the rake and spades from the wall and place the cutters neatly in the corner.

‘Hmmm… still an awful lot of empty space to fill’, you think to yourself. You pull the lawnmower out from the garage and wheel it up against the back wall.
‘Ah! The ladder can go out of the garage and into the shed’, you realise. So next in goes the ladder, propped up nicely against a side. Smiling, satisfied with your work so far, you decide there’s still room for the lawnmower and a few more items before it becomes too cluttered. 2 minutes later and the families 4 fold-up sun loungers and a pressure washer fill the remaining space.

Everything in the shed looks nice and neat, there’s still room to manoeuvre around and for the first time in years the garage looks fairly uncluttered! Your partner is no longer nagging away at you to clear out the garage and there’s plenty of space for the kids to keep a few toys.

‘Money very well spent’, you think

Ted the Shed - The Finale

So the time has come. Unfortunately every good thing has to come to an end and this is no different. So sit back, get a cuppa and enjoy the final chapter in Ted the Sheds grand story!

Ted was awoken by a loud roaring noise coming from the sky. He rubbed his eyes and looked upwards to see what the noise was; all the other garden buildings were already awake looking skyward. A plane was shooting across the sky, although this plane was moving much faster than any normal one Ted has seen before. It quickly went out of view and silence descended upon the field once again.

  “Weird…” commented Gertrude the Greenhouse.

“That wasn’t any normal plane” added Chris the Chicken Shack.

Not sharing his friends concerns, “I think it’s quite cool, look how fast it went” Ted said.

No sooner had he finished, another deafening roar pierced the sky and 4 similar planes flew over the friends’ plain. “This isn’t good at all…” murmured Sarah the Shed.

Suddenly a huge blast went off not too far away. The friends gasped as a fireball followed by a plume of smoke bellowed into the air. “It’s happening…” said Gertrude. Now getting slightly worried, “what do you mean it’s happening? What’s happening?” enquired Ted the Shed.

With panic stricken across his logs, Larry the Log Cabin explained; “haven’t you noticed anything wrong with this place since you’ve been here Ted? Look around you. There’s nothing. No houses. No cars. No people. Just the one road that goes in and out of the plain.”

Ted the Shed looked around and saw Larry was right. How had he not noticed something so obvious? Being with new garden buildings it completely slipped his mind to look for his old owners. “What are you saying then Larry?” Ted asked.

“This is military testing area Ted. Those planes flying above us are RAF bombers. They come here and test out their latest weapons on the area!” Larry clarified.

“What?! Why on earth do they need us here? My owners wouldn’t do this to me. No way” a distressed Ted the Shed said.

“I’m so sorry Ted, but they have…” Larry the Log Cabin replied.

Another plane flew across, followed by another. A bomb went off in the distance again. A second bomb exploded to the left of the Ted and he looked away in fear. He remained unscathed but a look of horror swept across his face as he turned back round... Sarah the Shed had been crumpled by the blast!

  “SAAAAAAARAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH” Ted cried out.

The shed of his dreams had been blown apart before his very eyes. Chris the Chicken Shack had also suffered the same fate; all that was left were a few charred, broken panels. Bombs continued to rain down around Ted as he sat there helpless. When will this be over? He thought to himself. Then after a few long minutes, BOOM…. It was….

Ted the Shed Part 4

Yes, after nearly a 2 week absence Ted is back! ‘Woohoo’ I hear you shout! I apologise for keeping you all in such suspense after the cliff-hanger of the latest chapter, but I’m here now to relieve you of the tension.

Ted was lifted out the back of the lorry and forcefully carried away by two large delivery men. ‘I wonder where they’re going to put me?’ Ted the Shed thought, excitedly. The men took him into a large open plain and put him down against a bush. WOW! Ted gaped in awe at his new home; he was surrounded by a variety of sheds and garden buildings! The builders shifted Ted into position and walked away to remove the remaining items from the lorry.

“Hey look guys, a newbie!” a voice called out.

“Hello? My names Ted the Shed, pleasure to meet you all” Ted responded.

“Very nice to meet you Ted, I’m Gertrude the Greenhouse” said a greenhouse a few metres away. “Look to your right you’ll see Glenda the Gazebo and Larry the Log Cabin, directly facing you is Chris the Chickenshack”

“Wow, this really is amazing! I was a bit apprehensive about moving and leaving my old friends behind but you guys seem really cool!” said Ted enthusiastically.

“Oh I almost forgot! There’s just one more garden building I forgot to introduce. Finally to your left you have Sarah the Shed” continued Gertrude.

Ted looked to his left and couldn’t believe what he was seeing. His tools dropped to the floor. Sarah was the most beautiful shed he’d ever seen in his life!

“Heyyy Ted, how are you? It’s good to have you around, you’ll be happy here.” Sarah softly spoke

“Y-y-yeah I’m alright” said Ted, struggling to get his words out.

“Only alright? You were bouncing off the walls a minute ago!”

“I mean yeah great, buzzing. Sorry Sarah it’s all a lot to take in” Keep your composure! Ted thought to himself. It wasn’t too much to take in at all; he just couldn’t stop thinking how gorgeous she was! Was this love? His thoughts were soon interrupted by Larry the Log Cabin shouting across the field “Sarah share Ted around a bit!”

Ted grinned and looked out at his new home. ‘I’m going to like this place’, he thought as he carried on talking with his new friends long into the night.

Is Ted in love? Is everything as rosy as it seems in the new house? Tune in next time to find out!

Argos the Greek shed

Argos the Greek Shed Short Story Argos the Greek Shed was a large 10 x 10 shed and was manufactured in Athens 1985. Argos the Greek shed was spotted in Athens and was much admired by his new owner Stavros. So Stavros paid 900 Euro for Argos the Greek shed and took Argos the Greek Shed to his cat sanctuary on the Greek island of Skiathos.

Argos the Greek shed was delivered and then assembled and was now ready for use. Now Argos the Greek Shed was so called after his owner Argos. Argos was a small tubby chap who loved sailing. Argos the Greek Shed was ideal for storing all of Argos sailing equipment. Right then Argos said Argos to his lovely shed. What I need you for Argos is to keep all me sailing equipment nice and secure.

I don’t want anyone coming in Argos and stealing me equipment. With a gentle tap tap on Argos, Argos jumped in his car and drove off. Argos the Greek Shed checked his padbolt, everything secure so everything will be safe and sound. Argos starting checking all his equipment he was told to look after. Hmm a nice white sail, must be a spare, one battery, one new engine, lots of life jackets, a how to safe your life book, book of sos messages and so on. Argos the Greek shed had become the talk of the cats in the cat sanctuary. This shed Argos put up is nice.

A purrfect place for a catnap I say purred Mythos the cat. Mythos waited for Argos to open the door of Argos the Greek Shed and when he wasn’t looking, quickly nipped in. Mythos spotted this nice white sail and thought that would be the purrfect place for a catnap. Argos won’t mind, Im sure.

The end.

Hey is that the end of the story? Blumming rubbish if you ask me. It started great with Argos and all that. I thought it was going to be one of those thrilling short stories. Well what can you say. A cat sleeping in a shed what a rubbish ending la di da.

Ted the Shed Part 3

Ted the Shed yawned as he opened his eyes and squinted in the bright sunlight. Today was the big day! (No Ted the Shed isn’t getting married, at least not yet anyway!). It was moving out day. Ted felt optimistic about the move because as nice as it was here, Ted couldn’t help but feel extremely bored and lonely; only having Gary the Gate and Fiona the Fence for company. Saying goodbye would be hard though, as they had known each other since they were in the manufacturers.
As the removal men came through the back gate, Ted knew it was time to say goodbye. “So I guess this is goodbye guys…” Ted said, trying his best to fight back the tears.
“I think so Ted, it’s been an honour and a pleasure sharing a garden with you” commented Gary the Gate.
Fiona the Fence, who by now had an endless stream of tears running down her panels managed to give a few words; “I hope you go to a place where the grass is greener, the people are nicer and where you can have lots of great friends, because if anyone deserves it its you Ted”.
“Ted the Shed, noble by birth, yet nobler by great deeds” echoed Gary.
You could see the tears glistening in Ted’s eyes as he nodded in modest appreciation and pride. “Gary the Gate... Fiona the Fence... Just remember that yesterday is the past, tomorrow is the future, but today is a gift. For that is why it's called the present. Stay strong, for I am the one who’s had the honour of having such noble companions. Sheds like me may come and go, but it’s garden buildings like thou that are the reason one is still here today. What if you weren’t there to hold up that gang? One would surely be nothing but a pile of ashes right now. So it is to both of you that I owe my life and I will be forever indebted to you. Do not spend your time in misery over ones absence, go forth and be happy. Just remember that thou only lives once, but if thou does it right, once is enough. So long… my friends”. And with that Ted the Shed was carried away, never to be seen by his longest and dearest friends again.
Ted felt a mixture of sadness, excitement and apprehension as he was loaded into a removal lorry and taken to his new home. As he thought about what may await him, Ted dozed off into a deep slumber…

Read in next time to find out where Ted will end up!

E is for Elbec

For some reason I was sitting at my desk and couldn’t think of anything within the business that begun with the letter E. Then I remembered that the actual business begins with an E. Silly.

Anyway, let’s have a brief overview of Elbec for today’s alphabet offering:
Elbec is a company that specialises in garden buildings, supplying sheds, cabins, summerhouses, greenhouses and fencing from some of the biggest and best suppliers in the UK. We strive to offer you, the customer, the lowest possible price on these items and as a result we often have big discounts on many of our products.

We have a large selection of sheds ranging from 2x2 to 20x10 and in wood, metal and plastic varieties. So whatever you need a shed for it’s pretty safe to say that we’ll have something for you!

Another of our more popular products are our chicken and rabbit shacks.  Wide ranges are available at affordable prices and are guaranteed to keep your pets happy.

If you’re looking to add a bit of character to your garden, look no further than our arbours and arches section. With many stylish and discounted products available you’re likely to find something to impress you and all your friends. An arbour is also a nice place to sit and enjoy a relaxing drink in the sun (what’s left of it anyway!).

Garden buildings are our only area of business though, we have a sister company in the toy market, which can be found at http://www.elbectoykingdom.co.uk/index.php

Please take the time to explore our website. Who knows, you may just find the newest addition to your garden there!
