Metal Shed Base

Metal Sheds

Metal sheds – Bases Explained

When you are thinking of buying a metal shed there are something’s that you must think about.
Do you already have a solid base for your metal shed to sit on or do you also need to purchase a floor kit with your order?
Your metal shed must be secured to a concrete, flagstone or a timber foundation base. This will protect your metal shed against any weather damage. We would advise that the metal shed base sits higher than the ground. This helps with rain drainage.

So if you already have a home for which your metal shed will sit (maybe an old metal shed that has been knocked down to make way for a younger model).
This will be a flagstone or a concrete base (make sure it is slightly larger than the metal shed itself).
So to fit your metal shed to this sort of base you could buy Hilti screws. The metal shed will come with the correct amount needed, plus a free masonry drill bit. After you have erected your lovely metal shed you would drill into pre – punched anchor wholes and hammer down the fasteners.

The Timber floor kit option for metal sheds.
These are made from fully pressure treated timbers. It comprises fully impregnated half lapped boards and bearers. It has nails for assembly, plus screws and washers to fix the metal shed base rail to the top surface of the floor are included.

I hope this helps a little when you are deciding what sort of base suits your needs and your metal sheds needs.
Like any home, as long as it is safe, secure and stable your metal shed will remain happy and loyal.
