All about Metal Sheds – continued

So we have just talked about condensation in metal sheds an how to minimise it. Most of the Elbec metal sheds include an air vent as standard. You will find that the really cheap metal sheds on the market do not include an air vent and will not be fully hot dipped galvanized. That’s why they are really cheap and that’s why you see rusty metal sheds at caravan sites.

What else do you need to know about metal sheds?

There are other options available for the base of a metal shed. For instance ,most of our metal sheds have the option of a foundation kit. This is a steel matrix framework about 3 inches deep. You simply put this down on a firm level base such as a patio area, fix the metal shed to it and then you can either flood the foundation kit with concrete (not supplied) or lay a timber floor over the matrix (not supplied).

An important point to remember about a metal shed base, is that if you fix the metal shed to an oversized hard standing area and just bolt it down you are going to get water running under the walls of the metal shed. That is why you need to create the base for the metal shed.

There is also the option of a timber floor which we can supply with most of the metal shed range.
