The Shire Pixie Playhouse places your children in the heart of the garden, with its open windows cottage-like appearance. This traditional playhouse comes equipped with a large, attractive veranda that provides shade from the sun, and covering into the colder months that will mean that your child will always be able to enjoy the garden. 

Safety is a high priority in the construction of the Shire Pixie Playhouse, with the shatter-resistant styrene windows and safety hinges. The Pixie Playhouse is constructed from high-grade shiplap pine in a sturdy tongue and groove construction that is resistant to the elements. Features FSC® certified timber and is providied with a dip-treated base coat as standard, with an opiton of a top coat for a stronger finish. You can easily customise the Shire Pixie Playhouse. We offer a range of Protek Royal Exterior Wood Finish treatments, available in a number of natural stains and colours, which is ideal for protecting your playhouse.

The Pixie Playhouse is supplied flat-packed for ease of handling and assembly. All fittings and felt are included in the price, with clear, easy-to-follow instructions, though you can choose to add assembly if desired.

Delivery

ALL DELIVERIES ARE DELIVERED TO KERBSIDE AND ARE FLAT PACKED READY FOR ASSEMBLY

FREE delivery is offered to the majority of mainland UK postcodes but some areas may incur a surcharge and some postcode areas are not covered at all. Please check your postcode in the ‘Delivery cost checker’ above to confirm availability and any possible surcharges.

Delivery Leadtimes
The estimated delivery lead time for this product is identified on the product page above. Lead times are in working days (Monday - Friday) excludes Bank Holidays. These estimated lead times are provided by the manufacturers and are not guaranteed - due to fluctuation in demand - but are provided in good faith and are representative of delivery at that time. Some remote areas will take a little longer.

Booking Delivery
By entering your postal code in the ‘Pick a delivery day. ENTER POSTCODE’ Box above you can select a delivery date. The evening before this delivery date you will be sent a text message (where a mobile has been provided) with an estimated delivery window.  This update can only be provided where a mobile number has been supplied on the billing address section at the time of checkout.

Upon Delivery
Delivery is made by Shire the manufacturer. Delivery of this item is typically made by a 17 ton flat-bed (similar size to a council refuse lorry). Delivery is typically between 7am and 7pm. The delivery drivers are only insured to deliver to kerb side or driveway. We would not risk damaging your property whilst delivering a product. Unfortunately we will not be able to go through your property. Deliveries are hand-balled off by the driver.

We would recommend against arranging for a third party to install the building before it's been delivered and checked that all parts are present, as we cannot be held liable for any third-party costs.

Installation option
If you are choosing the installation option after placing your order you’ll be contacted within 5 working days by Shire the manufacturer either by a text message or automated telephone message (the latter if a mobile number is not supplied). This message will supply you with the name of the website to go on to where you will be required to accept the terms and conditions for assembly. Any delay in accepting these terms and conditions may affect your timescale. Once you have accepted these terms and conditions you will be contacted during the timescale with a date for the delivery/assembly of your order. The installation option will extend your lead time by up to 15-25 working days. This may take longer during seasonal periods. Please be aware that the installation team will require full access to your garden, 18" clearance all around the building and a firm and level base. Shire's installation team will not bring a building through your home as they are not covered by insurance to enter a customer’s home.

"A really lovely Wendy house. I picked it as I wanted large windows so I could see the kids. My husband is a carpenter so took him half a day to build. He didn’t follow the instructions as they weren’t easy. The Perspex cracked when installing and hoping to get a replacement. Not sure how they will last with the 1 and 3yo It looks fab painted and with fairy light I would share a photo but there isn’t an option "

"Waited till we received the shed before reviewing - cannot fault the shed - other than the hinges & window locks etc could have been of better quality but you get what you pay for. Husband & son built it in a day- there was an issue but that was because the flooring wasn’t quite level - our fault nothing to do with the shed & once rectified everything was fine. Delivery - on the day that was arranged & received a call approx 30 mins before shed was delivered by a very pleasant & helpful delivery person (didn’t get his name unfortunately). Would we order from Elbec again - definitely."

"Interesting: There are a number of reviews of the Pixie playhouse on the internet varying from the positive to the down right negative. I did a lot of research on playhouse before buying and to be honest they are all pretty mush the same.I hope this will be a balanced review. Positives Value for money - if you buy it from this site it is about £50-£60 cheaper than anywhere else. For the money I doubt that, even if you had the skills or inclination, you could build it for less than this. Shire were pleasant to deal with. They phoned to thank me for buying the playhouse and to arrange a suitable delivery time - well within the 10 days specified. Once painted and buildt - it looks lovely - very spacicious and should last your child many years. Negatives The build instructions are hopeless! Too small to read, confusing and at some points completely out of date. You can download a PDF from another website which helps as you can enlarge it. My partner and his dad pretty much ignored the instructions and built it using common sense. The build quality is a bit shoddy in places. There is a bit of sanding to do - but nothing arduous. Some of the nails used to hold panels together miss there mark but you can easily tap them out with a hammer and reposition them. Again even a more expensive playhouse probably wont be built that well. Time - It took two blokes a full long day to build the playhouse and get it watertight. Summary Good value playhouse but may need assistance figuring out th einstructions"
