Professional installation of this wooden summerhouse is included in the price. Creating a firm and level base, preferably using concrete, is essential.

The summerhouse features double doors for excellent ventilation. Also, the fully glazed doors provide lots of natural light when closed. The external cladding consists of an engineered wood board with a cedar finish and is treated with an advanced formula of adhesive resins, water-resistant waxes, and zinc borate. A water-resistant, resin-saturated overlay is then applied. That gives four layers of protection against fungal decay and insect damage. All binding agents and resins are low-emitting, and the engineered wood board is highly durable, resisting buckling, peeling, cracking, and chipping.

Maintenance of the summerhouse is minimal, and there's no need to paint it every year. However, refreshing the paint periodically will keep it looking new. The internal cladding features a moisture-resistant MDF board with an Oxford profile finish, imitating traditional cladding with a grooved look. The walls and roof are insulated with YBS Airtec Double, consisting of highly reflective aluminium foil with a laminated surface on either side of an air bubble membrane, acting as a vapour control layer. An R-value of 1.45 Airtec Double is equivalent to approximately 55mm of polystyrene.

The flooring consists of tongue and groove boards with 25mm Celotex insulation to maintain a comfortable temperature inside the summerhouse. The interior features a herringbone vinyl flooring finish, providing a high-end feel. The handcrafted joinery on the windows and doors adds to the modern aesthetic of the summerhouse.  Additionally, you can upgrade to UPVC or aluminium windows and doors in anthracite grey, black, or white, but this will extend the delivery time, and prices are available upon request. These options will reduce the door height slightly, and prices are available on request.

This garden office pod includes side storage, so you get everything you need in one garden building. You can secure the single door to the shed with a padlock to keep everything safe inside.

About Your Order:

The Shire Garden Office Pod is a British-made garden building made from FSC® certified timber. You will get a low-carbon footprint summerhouse made from ethically sourced materials. It comes with a 10-year warranty. 

Price includes assembly by Shire’s professional fitting team. You’ll need a firm and level concrete base. Our manufacturer’s assembly team will contact you requesting images of the base.  Occasionally, they may visit the site to confirm the base is suitable for assembly. Once they have confirmed the base is appropriate, you will be given a delivery/assembly date (delivery and assembly are on the same day).

Garden Office Aftercare:

The home garden office has been treated using a proprietary zinc borate-based process.  As this is an advanced treatment, it makes it a maintenance-free garden building. If required, you can repaint the building to keep it looking new.

Delivery and Installation Timeframes

We offer same-day delivery and installation services. While we strive to complete the installation on the same day, larger buildings may require more than one day for installation. Our lead times are calculated in working days (Monday - Friday) and do not include Bank Holidays. These estimates are sourced from the manufacturers and serve as a general guideline, subject to fluctuations in demand. Delivery and Installation Procedure

Within 5 working days, Shire, the manufacturer, will reach out to you. This communication will be via either a text message or an automated telephone message. If a mobile number is not provided, the latter method will be used. This message will include the necessary website link where you can review and accept the assembly's terms and conditions. Prompt acceptance of these terms is crucial to avoid any potential delays. Once you've agreed to the terms and conditions, Shire will contact you within the specified timeframe to arrange the delivery and assembly date for your order. Please note that this process might take more time during peak seasons. Keep in mind that the installation team will require unobstructed access to your garden, a minimum of 18" clearance around the building, and a solid, level foundation. It's important to know that Shire's installation team cannot bring the building through your home, as they lack the insurance coverage for entering a customer’s property.

Delivery Day

The manufacturer, Shire, handles the delivery process. Typically, this item will be delivered using a 17-ton flat-bed vehicle, similar in size to a council refuse lorry. Deliveries are scheduled within the time frame of 7 am to 7 pm."
