The charming and extra-spacious 7 x 13 Lambeth Summerhouse from Shire is a great way to add a touch of elegance to your garden and a fantastic new space to use in your leisure time. Whether it’s a place to relax with loved ones with a drink or two you’re after, a backdrop to a gathering of family and friends, or simply a quiet spot for your hobbies, the Lambeth could be exactly what you need. However you decide to use your summerhouse, we are certain the Lambeth will help you to make the most of your garden.

Its ¾ glazed double doors and two large windows to either side make the front almost entirely glazed. This allows plenty of light to flood the interior, which makes the it feel extra bright and spacious. On top of that, the Lambeth has three opening side windows, which can be located on either side, that allow in even more light and can be opened to allow in a cool breeze as required. Customers who are drawn to the Lambeth are most often those who prefer the traditional look. The Georgian-style glazing of the windows, the classic apex roof and the charming scalloped fascia all come together to really set off the classic good looks of the summerhouse too. You can add an optional veranda too if you want to add a beautiful finishing touch to the Lambeth's classic good looks.

The Lambeth is built to the high standards you can expect from any Shire summerhouse and includes many features you would not normally find in a garden building of this price. The windows and doors have proper, handcrafted joinery, instead of the glued on Georgian glazing bars you will find elsewhere. They are properly morticed and tenoned and the windows also have a unique profiled “lip” that covers the aperture of the opening in the panel, making them extra weather resistant. Casement stays have 2 levels of opening. The glazing is 3mm horticultural glass which can be relied upon to keep its clarity compared to plastics, like styrene, which are often used to glaze garden buildings. All glazing is retained by profiled beading which is pre-mitred, meaning there are no awkward corners to be cut. It also boasts a tongue and groove roof and floor, whereas many garden buildings will use uglier alternatives like OSB. Using tongue and groove also gives a more durable floor and a more weather-resistant roof.

The Lambeth has shiplap tongue and groove cladding. This means the individual boards close together tightly to act as a great barrier to the elements. The shiplap profile gives a slight, overlapping “lip” which aids water run-off and increases the summerhouse’s weather protection. The framework on the Lambeth , which really gives the building its strength, is a robust 34mm x 34mm, which is as much as 20% thicker than the framing you will find on many alternative garden buildings in this price bracket. The timber used is a continental slow grown timber. Slower grown timber means a tighter grain, extra strength and a longer life.

The Lambeth is supplied with detailed instructions and all the fixings needed, including roofing felt, to complete assembly. Alternatively, an assembly service is available if you would like your summerhouse built for you quickly and professionally.

This Lambeth Summerhouse is pressure treated. Pressure treated timber is the top of its class when it comes to long-lasting timber products that will resist rot, fungus, insect and weather damage. This building is protected by a 10-year anti-rot guarantee. This includes using an appropriate product to treat your building and carrying out periodic re-treatment. Shire recommends Protek Paint, available to purchase from elbec for a fantastic price. Protek have an excellent range of colours and stains while providing probably the best timber protection you can buy.
