The 8 x 8 Pressure Treated Corner Shed from Shire is perfect for turning an otherwise unused or awkward corner of your garden into valuable extra space for storage or work and boasts loads of high quality features that ensure it is a shed of real excellence. Specially designed to be the perfect fit for any garden corner, you can rest assured that a corner shed will allow you to make the most of your available outdoor space. With the extra room you get in the 8 x 8 over the smaller size, you really will have a versatile space that can be used for a variety of purposes. Whether you have large items of garden furniture and tools in need of a home, your existing storage spaces are full to bursting, or if you would like a place that is big enough for a home workshop, look no further than the Shire Pressure Treated Corner Shed.

Quite simply, pressure treated sheds are at the top of their class when it comes to quality wooden products that will stand up to the test of time. Pressure treatment involves a preservative being forced into the timber under high pressure. This provides unbeatable, long-term protection against rot, fungus and weather damage, helping to ensure that your shed will last. It gets its strength from a robust 34mm x 34mm framework, ensuring a sturdy shed that will stand up to the test of time. Further stability and durability is added by its walls, which are constructed from 12mm thick shiplap tongue and groove boarding. This not only ensures a robust construction, but also makes sure the interior is nicely sealed away from the elements. The Corner Shed also features a hard-wearing, OSB roof and a high quality, 12mm tongue and groove floor. This not only ensures that you have a nicely weatherproof roof and a robust floor capable of withstanding heavy loads, but you are given extra protection against rot and damp.

The Shire Corner also features two opening windows. These allow in plenty of natural light as well as cool air when opened, especially useful in the warmer months. This also makes the interior a pleasant place to spend your time and gives you the flexibility to use it as a workshop. The windows are properly mortised and tenoned and have a unique, profiled lip that covers the opening in the panel, making the shed even more weather resistant. They are glazed in horticultural glass for long lasting clarity. The wide opening double doors allow easy access to your shed and make taking even the largest items in and out a breeze. These doors are ledged and feature a padbolt for extra strength and security (padlock not supplied.) This fantastic shed is protected by a 10 year anti rot guarantee, so you can be certain you are purchasing a shed that will last.

About the Timber

You will be impressed by Shire's use of natural products and their environmental credentials. A high quality timber shed starts with high quality timber, so it is important to know exactly what timber is being used. The most commonly used timber for garden buildings is pine (pinus) as this is widely available for a very cheap price, however all of Shire's garden buildings are constructed using high quality spruce (picea) and is sourced from Scandinavia under strict FSC guidance. Spruce is more durable than pine and provides a higher quality finish. This timber is slow grown unlike fast grown British and Eastern Europe's timber, being slow grown timber means a tighter grain, less sap and with far fewer knots. The timber used on Shire's products is therefore a more durable timber that will last much longer than other timbers. Spruce is therefore the timber of choice for companies such as Shire who always look to produce the best garden building.

About Shire

Established in 1945, Shire are the country's leading, and one of the oldest established, manufacturers of garden buildings. Shire benefit from being adjacent to the Port of Wisbech through which Shire discharge timber into their warehouses. Their range includes Garden Sheds, Log Cabins, Eco Homes, Home Offices, Sheds, Workshops, Summerhouses, Playhouses, Arbours, Storage units and Pet houses. Their production facilities cover some 23 acres and include huge undercover stock holding facilities for many of their ranges, an advanced high speed timber planing mill, modern well equipped joinery production facility and semi-automated production lines. All Shire garden buildings are manufactured in the UK using the finest spruce timber, imported directly and machined through the most up to date machines to ensure the best quality and best value for money garden buildings in the UK.

Additional Details about Your Order

This shed is pressure treated. Pressure treatment is almost colourless, except for a light green tint caused by the copper content in the preservative. In the course of time, the treatment greys, but this does not affect the quality. Many customers like to personalise their sheds by adding an exterior wood treatment which also adds additional protection to the timber. Shire recommends Protek Royal Exterior wood finish, available from elbec in many different colours. This is also a great way to refresh the look of your shed over time.
