Metal Shed Base Guidelines

Before initiating any groundwork, selecting the size and location of the shed you intend to install is essential. We advise maintaining a clear 50cm space around the shed’s perimeter to facilitate ladder access during installation.

NOTE: A concrete base is recommended if you plan to create a new foundation for your shed. Ensure the base is solid and level, as any irregularities could affect the shed's stability and interfere with the door mechanisms. A slight gradient in the base is advisable for natural rainwater drainage, with a recommended slope of no more than 20mm in any direction.

If a base is already in place, please ensure it meets the minimum size requirements and is in good condition. Any uneven or damaged areas of the existing base should be repaired before proceeding with the shed installation.

Concrete Base

If you are uncertain about the suitability of the surface where your metal shed will be placed, we strongly advise installing a concrete base to ensure stability. The recommended construction comprises a 75mm hardcore sub-base with 75mm concrete.

Patio Slabs or Block Paving

Patio slabs or block paving provide a great alternative to a concrete base. Each slab must be precisely laid to form a uniform and level base. Typically, this involves a 75mm hardcore sub-base, followed by 25mm mortar beneath the slabs.

Delivery Leadtimes

The estimated delivery lead time for this product is identified on the product page above. Lead times are in working days (Monday - Friday) and exclude Bank and Public Holidays. These estimated lead times are provided by the manufacturers and are not guaranteed - due to fluctuation in demand - but are provided in good faith and are representative of delivery at that time. Some remote areas will take a little longer.

For larger items, the carrier will contact you to schedule a convenient delivery date. For smaller items, the carrier will send an email with the delivery date and a tracking link for online monitoring.

Vehicles We Use
Deliveries will be made using larger lorries that can access most locations. Typically, we use a 7.5-ton lorry, similar in size to a dustbin lorry. However, the actual size may vary depending on the item being delivered. If you have concerns about restricted access to your property, please contact us before placing your order.

Unloading Of Your Delivery
Because of the product's characteristics, delivery will occur at the front of your property, to the closest accessible point. Our drivers are unable to transport these items into your home or back garden. When items are delivered on a pallet, both the pallet and packaging are non-returnable, and movement is possible only on a flat, level surface (not on gravel driveways) using a pallet truck. Sometimes, the driver may split the package to aid in moving the item. We'll request you to inspect the goods upon delivery, ensuring satisfaction before signing off on the delivery.

Installation Option

If you opt for installation, please note that delivery and assembly will occur on different days. Choosing installation will extend your lead time by approximately 25-30 working days from the order placement date for installation.
