Description
Built for comfort, strength, and year-round use, the Lugarde Select Prima Padstow Summerhouse is a square garden room with serious substance. With a 2.40m x 2.40m footprint, it’s the ideal choice for compact gardens that still deserve a standout feature—whether you’re after a home office, hobby space, or serene retreat. The Padstow is constructed using Lugarde’s signature Prima system, which discreetly integrates aluminium corner profiles into the structure for a crisp, clean look and added durability.
The real standout feature here is the use of 44mm thick kiln-dried spruce logs, which offer superior thermal performance and a sturdier feel compared to standard builds. Tongue-and-groove boards are used throughout the roof and floor, maintaining strength and insulation top to bottom. Laminated timber windows and doors bring added resistance to movement and warping, while retaining the beauty of natural wood.
Supplied untreated, the Padstow arrives as a blank canvas—ready for you to apply your finish, whether that’s a bold colour or a natural timber stain. With two opening windows, a wide single door with double glazing, and a premium locking system, this log cabin doesn’t just look the part—it performs too. All fittings are included, and it comes backed by a five-year warranty for peace of mind.

Make the Most of Your Summerhouse
The thicker walls of the Padstow make it especially suitable for long stints in the garden—ideal if you’re working from home or want a dedicated space for creative projects. The interior stays cooler in summer and retains heat better in the colder months, giving you more flexibility in how and when you use it.
Style it as a comfortable office, an art room with natural light, or a quiet escape from the main house. With its high-spec timber and simple, elegant design, it also makes a fantastic reading room or occasional guest space. However you use it, Padstow’s solid build means it will support your plans season after season.
Key Features & Build Quality:
Prima System Wall Construction
The Prima system is a patented, innovative 3-in-1 corner construction method that sets this summerhouse apart. Crafted with precision, it unites timber elements with concealed aluminium profiles inside the corner posts, delivering a flawless fit and a sleek, contemporary look.
Unlike traditional cabins with bulky extended log corners, the Prima system creates perfectly smooth, streamlined edges. This gives the log cabin a strikingly modern appearance while maintaining exceptional strength and stability.
Another key advantage is that the Prima system requires no nails or screws. With no visible fixings, the wood remains intact, extending its lifespan. Assembly is quick and straightforward, leaving you with a timeless structure that will enrich your garden for years to come.
Foundation Beam Wooden
This pressure-treated wooden foundation beam kit is supplied as standard and is designed to resist rot and ground moisture. The beam forms the perimeter foundation for your log cabin or summerhouse, keeping the walls slightly elevated above the ground. This prevents direct contact with soil or paving, improves ventilation, and helps extend the life of the timber.
The frame is made to match the footprint of your chosen building, providing stability and a level base. Please note: a solid, level surface such as a concrete base or paving slab is still required for the foundation beam to sit on.
Laminated Doors & Windows
Unlike many log cabins and summerhouses, Lugarde features laminated doors and windows, made with 45mm thick laminated wood. Laminated timber is commonly used in high-spec construction because it combines the natural beauty of wood with modern engineering for superior strength and durability. The layered construction makes it far less prone to warping than solid wood. By bonding multiple layers together, laminated timber achieves greater stability and longevity. Through the use of premium engineered wood and MDF, Lugarde ensures its doors and windows remain durable, stable, and resistant to distortion over time.
Concealed Hinges
Both windows and doors are fitted with concealed, neatly covered hinges that create a clean, polished appearance. Each door is equipped with three hinges for added strength. The hinges are fully adjustable in all directions, ensuring smooth operation and allowing for easy fine-tuning of the door’s alignment over time.
Aluminium Door Strip
The door's threshold comes with a protective aluminium strip, complete with pre-drilled holes, designed to shield the door sill from everyday wear and keep it looking like new.
Weather Strips for Windows and Doors
All windows and doors are supplied with weather strips to keep out drafts and moisture. For added protection, the internal frames' edges come with a removable foil covering, ensuring a spotless finish once painting is complete.
Optional Upgrades & Customisation:
Black Felt Roof Tiles
Upgrade your log cabin with the sleek black felt roof tiles, adding a touch of luxury while enhancing comfort with extra insulation for a stylish and practical finish.
Plastic Floor Beams
Although a timber foundation kit is included, you can choose to upgrade your structure’s foundation with plastic composite floor beams—a smart, durable alternative to timber. Designed to resist warping, rot, and moisture damage, these beams offer long-term strength without the upkeep associated with wood. They won’t attract pests, don’t require staining or treatment, and remain stable in all weathers. Lightweight yet sturdy, this composite beam also make installation faster and simpler. Plastic is a practical and proven choice for a reliable, maintenance-free base that stands the test of time.

Installation & Preparation:
Summerhouse Base
We recommend that the summerhouse is sited on pre-laid, level, solid and dry ground. A foundation of hardcore, compacted, and concrete or paving slabs to give a stable and even footing for your garden room to sit on. You can request 'Guidelines for Preparing a Concrete Base' through our 'Contact Us' Section. This summerhouse is supplied with comprehensive fitting instructions and fixings provided. Two people are required to complete the build.
Gorilla Ground Screws
Gorilla Ground Screws provide a fast, clean, and hassle-free alternative to traditional foundations. Available in lengths of 1050mm and 1200mm, they eliminate the need for digging and concrete, reducing mess, disruption, and costs. Interested in a quote? Get in touch with us today. Summerhouse Aftercare
The Lugarde Summerhouse is supplied untreated. To ensure you enjoy your garden cabin for many seasons, you must apply a preservative and waterproofing topcoat immediately after installation. These treatments, followed by yearly summerhouse treatment, will maintain the high-quality finish and retain the 5-year warranty. A 1-year manufacturer's warranty is included as standard.
To treat the wooden summerhouse, elbec recommends Protek wood treatment. Browse our Protek Royal Exterior Wood Finish Paint range to find the best paint colour to add your personalised finish.
